When Single Ladies was renewed for a second season, fans rejoiced.
However, the happy days were short lived for Single Ladies fans. Soon after it’s renewal Single Ladies star, Stacey Dash, announced she was leaving Single Ladies so she could commit more time to her family.
Many fans wondered what this meant for season 2 of Single Ladies. It was hard for many fans to imagine Single Ladies without Stacey Dash, who was such a pivotal character on the series.
Today, VH1 provided the answer. The LA Times reported VH1 recently hired Denise Vasi to replace Stacey Dash on Single Ladies. Denise Vasi, an All My Children and White Collar alum, joins the series as a new character, Raquel.
In a statement VH1 describes Vasi’s new character on Single Ladies as “A savvy businesswoman from a prominent Southern family who is on a ‘quest to discover passion.’” If we read that right it pretty much means Vasi will be modeled after Stacey Dash’s character.
Will Vasi keep Single Ladies fans engaged in the series? Only time will tell.
