When MTV decided to document the Occupy Wall Street Movement in their True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street we knew the movement had officially become a fad. Not to bash the 99% movement, we believe any protest from either side deserves to be heard and we are impressed by how quickly this movement spread. MTV, however; as a network is at times fickle and will latch on to any trend. It was not surprising that they were quick to latch on to the Occupy Wall Street movement.
When South Park decided to pay attention and memorialize the 99% movement in their recent episode, which was brilliantly funny and thought provoking, we knew the movement had made it. South Park once again found a way to take a socially and politically relevant topic, incorporate it into their story in an engaging way while providing its viewers with an interesting yet entertaining perspective.
The video clip below doesn’t do the South Park episode justice but it does deliver some great laugh out loud moments. In the clip Eric is classified (by himself) as the 1% and has a moment with Clyde Frog.
