Single Ladies: Stacey Dash leaving VH1′s Single Ladies

: Why is Stacey Dash leaving Single Ladies?

Single Ladies may be coming back for season 2 but Stacey Dash, the Clueless star who plays Val on the series, will not be coming back the second time around. In a very unexpected move Dash announced that she will not be returning for season 2 of Single Ladies due to family obligations.

Why is Stacey Dash leaving Single Ladies aka Was Stacey Dash she fired from Single Ladies?

In a statement released today the Single Ladies star explained why she was leaving the series. Stacey Dash’s statement read, “I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the Single Ladies shooting location [in Atlanta] makes this impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in Season 1.”

VH1 responded with a statement of their own in which they said, ““VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making Single Ladies a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans.”

Stacey Dash’s character, Val, is the center of the show. The drama of Single Ladies centers around the romantic adventures of Val, the owner of a fashion store in Atlanta, and her two friends. Stacey Dash’s departure from Single Ladies is a huge blow for VH1′s first ever scripted series, which has delivered in the ratings for VH1. We have serious doubts that the series can survive without it’s central character but wish Single Ladies all the best.

That is very disapointing but single ladies will not survive I know i won’t be watching to much of single ladies

I really like single ladies and my favorite characters are keisha and malcolm. Why stacy will be missed because i liked her to if changes were going to be made right now is the time. I believe that the show will hold it’s own.

I agree. I believe Keisha and Malcolm had more spice and drama. Malcolm ex-wife, brother and sister added additional spice and drama. I will also miss Stacy but I think they can find another pretty girl with dreams of being a bride. The show should come back with the focus on Rick Foxx investigating Lisa Raye and DB Woodside and I like the young girl Kassandra Clement role she plays as the promiscous flirt. Keep bringing in guess starts the show will continue with faithful fans.

I probably will not watch it without Stacey Dash she was the only reason I started watching it from the very beginning any ways. The whole entire show revolved around her love life! And how would you start a new season without finishing where they left off on that last episode?

I hate that Stacey Dash will not return, but she need has to do what she need to for her family. I will like to see Queen Latifa play that part.

I will hate to see Stacy Dash’s character leave, but I love single ladies and will continue watching. The should pick one of the ladies from Girlfriends, I miss that show.

I wont be watching the show even though kiesha and malcolm had the spice of the show it was mainly surrounded by stacey and she played a big part her story line was good also with who she would marry but I dont know if I want to continue watching it i wonder who they are gonna replace to fill in for stacey dash

I will watch single ladies. But there is no replacement for stacy dash but I do think it’s a good show.we will have to see if it can hold it own without Stacy. We’ll see
