The countdown to Steve Carrell’s departure from The Office is on. Recently NBC and The Office announced that Steve Carrell, who plays Michael Scott on the popular comedy series, will not be leaving The Office at the end of the season, as many originally thought, but in the middle of the winter season, sometime in April. Until Steve Carrell departure we are going to cherish every moment we have with him.

Our favorite Michael Scott moment from this week’s The Office “Ultimatum” episode occurred when Michael learned that AJ did not abide by Holly’s ultimatum to propose to her by New Years and believed she was single.

Michael believed that if Holly was engaged he would go into a rage and if she was not engaged he burn down the building but that in either case he would have to be talked down and as he put it “no one talks me down like myself in a video talking me down.” Michael, with the help of Erin, prepared pre-taped messages to talk himself down and also prepared a box of happy and sad supplies to use after he learned of Holly’s relationship status.

Michael believed that the absence of a ring on Holly’s finger meant she was single and prematurely celebrated the news with Erin. He and Erin played the video they had prerecorded, put Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” on blast, pulled out the confetti and champagne, and had a dance-off with pre-recorded Michael. It was one of our favorite moments from this season of The Office. See it below.

In the end Michael learned that Holly did not in fact leave AJ as she claimed she would. In true Michael Scott fashion Michael had a mini-breakdown at a staff meeting causing Holly to run out. Eventually Holly and Michael mended their broken relationship but not before Holly realized she needed to take a break from AJ.

What does Holly’s break from AJ mean for Holly and Michael? We’re not sure. We’ll have to tune in to future episodes of The Office to find out. Until we learn the truth we will just replay Michael’s celebration dance over and over again for our entertainment.
