We don’t think we have ever been as frustrated during a 16 and Pregnant episode as we were during this week’s episode. Christinna’s 16 and Pregnant episode did not feature the struggles associated with motherhood, but instead focused on Christinna’s baby daddy and family drama. We were frustrated by both Christinna and her baby daddy’s family throughout the episode. The episode felt more like an episode of Maury than an episode of 16 and Pregnant.
MTV let Christinna’s drama overshadow her baby and as a result she never conveyed any of the messages she originally wanted to convey. What teenagers will take away from this episode is not to piss off the family of their baby daddy. They will never know about the challenges Christinna faces as a mother because Christinna’s 16 and Pregnant episode did not feature those issues. Christinna’s 16 and Pregnant episode focused on her relationship issues with her baby’s father and his family and not on her baby. Her baby was an innocent, helpless bystander in the background to this Maury drama.
After witnessing all the drama during Christinna 16 and Pregnant episode we knew we had to follow up and see what became of her. This is what we learned.
Christinna did do the paternity test that Isiah’s family bought in the episode but according to her his family did not send it in and pay for it to be analyzed. Christinna says she is going to pay for it.
id not get in her episode. We started to see a different side of Christinna in her interviews and her answers on formspring. She seems to be more level-headed and less self-centered than in her episode. We are not sure if that has to do with editing or with Christinna. All we know is that we liked the post Christinna post 16 and Pregnant more than the Christinna we watched on the show.
