Premise: Brady Bunch: True Hollywood Story
Last night was suppose to be the much anticipated wedding of Justin and Rebecca on “Brothers and Sisters.” We know this was suppose to be a happy day for “Brothers and Sisters” fans but we have always been a little taken back by this union. Justin and Rebecca’s relationship never sat right with us. Let’s recap how they met, shall we?
Justin is a Walker. Justin’s father, William, died suddenly in the first episode and his secret life was exposed. William Walker had a mistress named Holly and it turns out that he was dating her behind his wife’s, Nora, back for about 20 years. When the news came out that Holly was William’s mistress people were not too happy.
When everyone found out that Holly had a daughter, Rebecca, they just assumed she was William’s kid, well that is everyone except for the skeptic, Kevin. Kevin presented the idea to the family that Rebecca may not be William’s kid. There was a family dinner, that of course did not go well, and Kevin pulled a “Maury” on Rebecca saying he wanted a DNA test to prove that her father was William Walker. Rebecca refused to give in and everyone dropped it and accepted Rebecca into the family as a sister. For some reason Rebecca ended up getting a DNA test and we learned at the end of the first season that learned that Rebecca was not actually William’s kid. Everyone was upset but said Rebecca was still their sister, except for Justin who wanted to be the Greg to Rebecca’s Marcia. They fell in love and now years later Rebecca is with child and her and Justin are getting married.
WHEW…
Is everyone caught up? Good. Can you see now why we may have concerns about this union?
Despite our feelings the show must go on. Rebecca and Justin who have gone through so much finally got married last night. Oh wait… that’s right, they didn’t. Justin’s sister Kitty Walker, played by our favorite Calista Flockhart, spent the entire
episode trying to cover up that her cancer has returned. While reading her lovely poem her secret was revealed. Watch it all happen here:
We were not shocked that the wedding did not happen as planned, really does anything ever go right for the Walkers? However, we were shocked to see Kitty take a dramatic nosedive into the sand. We would say that we hope Kitty is ok, but let’s not kid ourselves, ABC is not stupid enough to kick Flockhart off the show. We are just glad this tragic collapse prevented this Justin/Rebecca wedding. We are glad we have another couple of episodes to stomach the fact that Justin fell in love with someone he thought was his sister.
Better luck next time Justin and Rebecca.
